The Abbotsford Curling Club provides a variety of programs for our junior curlers. The curling club believes it is vital to get young people involved in our sport. Junior curlers pay reduced fees for the season, and have access to free equipment to help reduce costs to families.
Junior curling begins on October 20, 2008.
The Junior Curling League runs on Mondays from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, with a focus on learning the essential skills of the sport, then using those skills to play games.
The Optimist Club of Abbotsford runs a junior curling program on Monday evenings. For more information on this program, please click here. The Optimists hosted a very successful junior curling money spiel on March 2, 2008. Teams received $15 for each end they scored. There were a number of young curlers who were very excited about earning a little extra cash while playing the sport they love.
The MEI School League ran on Thursday afternoons before the Christmas break. Plans are underway to expand the school league for the 2008/2009 curling season.
The Abbotsford Curling Club welcomes school physical education programs throughout the curling season. Volunteers from the curling club are available to provide instruction to the students and teachers learning the sport.
